Over Her Dead Body wins Best Musical and Best Overall Show in the 2016 Capital Fringe Festival Audience Awards!

The spirits were with us this year, both onstage and off. We are overwhelmed with joy that our show won two major awards at the Capital Fringe Festival. Over 4,500 people voted in the awards and we appreciate our audience showing up for us! Sure, awards aren’t everything, but it’s awfully wonderful to have your work understood, recognized, and appreciated by so many. Watch Karen and Ryan’s acceptance remarks here.

Speaking of winning…

Our next project is coming up in just a couple of weeks. Pinky Swear will be presenting Renee Calarco’s Bleed at the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival on August 11. We made it to the final 30 plays out of hundreds of submissions. You may recall that we produced this play to some acclaim in 2013 as part of our Unclear Family repertory. Well, we’re back with the original cast and new director, Ally Currin, hoping to bring this beautiful one-act to new audiences in New York and the whole country. Should we be among the top six plays, as voted by an esteemed committee, the play will be published by Samuel French, a first for Calarco. We’d also be listed, along with our crew, as the originating theater in the publication.
