Pinky Swear is now casting for this year’s Fringe Show!
For the 2022 Capital Fringe Festival, Pinky Swear presents All the Feels: an Uplifting Cabaret. This show is about joy, something we’ve had precious little of for a while. 6 singers and a pianist will come together and sing songs that make us feel happy, powerful, provide catharsis, or all of the above. The goal is to make the audience feel better when they leave the theater.
The show will be devised by the group, with written portions by Karen Lange and Seth Alcorn. When the devising process is finishing, we’ll bring in a director to shape the show. Certain songs are pre-selected for the group to sing together, while we want the solos/duets to be selected by the individuals. We want you to bring *you* and everything that makes you unique to the show.
We are seeking 5 actor/singers for the show. Every gender and race encouraged to audition. We want to make this show reflect the population of the DC area.
Deadline for auditions is Friday, 5/6 at 7 pm
To audition, please record a video of yourself singing a song that is meaningful to you. You can do 32 bars or sing the whole ding-dang thing. If you have live accompaniment, great. If you don’t, a recording or karaoke track works fine. Play an instrument? Play it along with yourself or as an add on. In addition, please tell us something that brings you joy or something you want to leave behind from the past few years. It can be as short as a word or as long as 30 seconds.
Please keep your videos to 3 minutes or less. Upload as an unlisted link to YouTube (private doesn’t work for others to see it) and send the link, plus your headshot/resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
